About Us

A.B.S Group was established in April 1990 offering quality customer specification conversions to the Mini.

In 1992 due to poor quality and fit of products bought in from other manufacturers, A.B.S Mini’s produced their own body kit.

The range of quality fibre products for the Mini soon grew to include wheel arches, other body kits, bonnets, boots, spoilers and even a front end conversion to allow the fitment of Vauxhall 2000cc, Twin cams and Honda V-Tec engine units now totaling over 100 items.

1997 ABS Motorsport developments opened offering design and manufacturing of lightweight GRP products for the circuits and rally teams across the UK.

1998 ABS Mini’s launched the ‘Freestyle’ kit car, an inexpensive Mini based kit car for On & Off-Road Use. The sales of the Freestyle were amazing and demanded so much time that the Freestyle Project was sold onto TH Engineering. This entry into the Kit-Car Industry gave ABS Group more manufacturing contracts for many Kit-Cars.

Due to the demand for ABS Groups Fibreglass products, the decision was made to close the Fitting & Maintenance departments and expand the premises into a larger factory.

2001 ABS Group expanded their export market and now offers worldwide trade and retail supplies of Motorsport and Styling products including body kits, bonnet vents, quad lights, mirrors and boot spoilers.

ABS Group was now under so much demand for products the step was taken to distribute other manufacturer’s products. Due to the vast amount of copied products there are on the market, the decision was made to cut all the useless products out and select only the very best. ABS Group trial fitted products from other companies before we were happy to re-sell any item. The Items you see on this site for sale are all genuine items from the original listed manufacturer. PSG & MC Rallying was added this year, these companies were chosen for their range and the quality of the products.

2002 ABS Group added Carzone to the range, this company was chosen for their development of products for the very latest models and the outstanding quality of the items.

2003 ABS Group added Cadamuro Design to the range, this company was chosen for their range of products for European and mainly Italian models. The quality is excellent and the styling is subtle compared to many companies.

2004 ABS Group added products from the Carmania, Lester and Rieger ranges to fulfil customer requirements of rarer products. Due to high demand ABS Group started a fitting service again with the 1st 2 months bookings taking us through into 2005!!

2005 ABS Group really outgrew the factory in 2003 and in May relocated to new premises. The new factory has being fitted out with streamlined manufacturing units and a dedicated fitting bay with onsite spray-oven. ABS Group also added the Ibherdesign range in January. Mr A Guppy wins ‘Trickest Mod’ at the Maxpower live awards with the Punto GT we built.

2006 ABS Group steps into the BTCC (British Touring Car Championship) with Martyn Bell in his BMW E46 320i and later in the season with Mark Smith in his Alfa Romeo 156. Ellri Design range, Domino GRP Bodyshell range added.

2007 ABS Group continue in the BTCC developing parts for the season for Martyn Bell, Mark Smith, Rick Kerry and Jim Pocklington adding to the BMW and Alfa Romeo products. FRA Bodyshell range, DJ Tuning Range added.

2008 ABS group expand! Due to increased product range and development space required ABS Group Acquire the Units next door and link them to provide a new storage and development facility, almost doubling the size of the current Factory.

ABS Group continue in the BTCC manufacturing components for Martyn Bell & Erkut Kizilirmak with Arkas Racing, Robertshaw Racing and Michael Doyle with In-Tune Racing. This has brought 3 new Car Manufacturers into the ABS Group stable and our client list is growing through the season.

ABS Group continue the long going supply for the BMW Kumho Championship competitors with new drivers Tom Houlbrook & Piers Ross with BMSport running the ABS Motorsport Logo’s. ABS Motorsport Sponsorship, We are asked by many teams and privateers for sponsorship and as much as we would like to help everyone we simply cannot. So we have introduced our Logo reward scheme, see our sponsorship section for more information. Minus Mini Shells added to the product range.

2009 ABS Group move again! In January 2009 ABS Group move into larger premises allowing for more streamlined manufacturing. Whist doing this ABS Group have moved the fitting and paintwork to a separate location on the site allowing for a contamination free bodywork area.

ABS Group continue in the BTCC manufacturing components for Martyn Bell & Paul O’Neil with Sunshine.co.uk Racing, John George with TH Motorsport, Martin Johnson with Boulevard Team Racing and Michael Doyle with In-Tune Racing. This has brought 2 new Car Models into the ABS Group stable and our client list continues to grow through the season. ABS Group enters the CSL Cup as main panel supplier through Thorney Motorsport, this, along with the many teams like BMSport in the Kumho BMW Championship and Britcar Championship makes ABS Group one of the largest BMW panel suppliers for Motorsport panels across Europe.

ABS Group acquire Sabre Styling tooling offering a vast range of styling kits for the Japanese market along with tooling for Hyundai & Mitsubishi WRC carbon & kevlar components, these will hopefully be made available later in the 2009 season.

New designs launched for many Mini components along with the Minus Pickup Shell added to the range.

2010 ABS Group continue in the BTCC with Boulevard Team racing with the Astra Coupe, TH Motorsport with the Honda Civic for Matt Hamilton, Central Group Racing with the Honda Integra for Lea Wood, Pinkney Motorsport with a Vauxhall Vectra For Dave Pinkney and a completely new design Aero kit for AmD Essex and their VW Golf for Shaun Hollamby.

ABS Group take over the manufacturing for Pinkney Motorsports Alfa Romeo BTCC Aero work.

ABS Group continue to supply most of the Teams in the Kumho BMW Championship along with other national championships across Europe and Asia.

ABS Group sponsor the 16v sprint championship, as ‘Door Panel Sponsor’ ABS Group provided a Trophey for each round along with championship Trophey.

The Mini range continues to grow with the addition of the MiniSprint Body shell, more Dashboards, Bonnet and spoiler designs.

2011 ABS Group continue in the BTCC with several Aero Updates for the VW Golf for AmD Essex who have a Mixed Driver line up with Tom Onslow-Cole, Shaun Hollamby and Martin Byford. Central Group Racing with the Honda Integra for Lea Wood in the last year that the BTC spec cars will be eligible,

ABS Group Design one of the new NGTC cars for the BTCC for Thorney Motorsport, The Vauxhall Insignia will be the 1st NGTC car not built by GPRM and will aim to be out for the full season in 2012.

ABS Group continue to supply most of the Teams in the Kumho BMW Championship along with other national championships across Europe and Asia.

The Mini range continues to grow with the addition of new Front Ends, Body Kit, Bonnet and Spoiler Designs.

2012 ABS Group continue in the BTCC by supplying TOCA with composite component housings for all the BTCC cars, the Insignia for Thorney motorsport with John Thorne and later Tony Gilham behind the wheel. Tony Gilhams Team Hard purchased a pair of the Insignia’s for the last round at Brands. AmD continue with the VW Golf with Ollie Jackson behind the wheel. Lea Wood makes the move to the Vauxhall Vectra with his own team Binz Racing. ES Racing move to the ex 888 Vauxhall Vectra’s for Chris James and Dave Newsham and purchase the Pinkney Motorsport Bumper Moulds for us to supply them. Dynojet run our NGTC bonnet vents in their Toyota Avensis for Frank Wrathall. ABS Group are designing other NGTC Aero Kits for new models to be raced in 2013.

ABS Group acquire all the Vauxhall moulds and tooling from 888 Race Engineering allowing the supply of all the BTCC aero panels for the Astra’s and Vectra’s for the future.

ABS Group acquire the Motorbase Performance BMW E90 BTCC pre facelift front and rear bumpers allowing the continued supply of these components.

ABS Group continue to supply most of the Teams in the Kumho BMW Championship along with other national championships across Europe and Asia.

ABS Group re-manufactures a range of composite components for the BMW E30 DTM spec in Kevlar, Carbon and Fibreglass.

The Mini range continues to grow with the addition of a new Lowered, Wider Spaceframe Mini Bodyshell for rear engine projects, along with more new Bonnet and Spoiler Designs.

2013 ABS Group continue in the BTCC with continued development for AmD with Aero upgrades for their VW Golf. Lea Wood continues with the Vectra. We re-tool the Seat Leon S2000 for BMR with Warren Scott.

ABS Group design the next NGTC car for Chris Stockton the Chevrolet Cruze Hatchback ready for its entry in 2014.

ABS Group continue to refurbish and reintroduce aero kits from the 888 moulds that had been retired bringing the older kits back into production for Time Attack and other championships.

2014 ABS Group continue in the BTCC with more new NGTC Aero kits. The Chevrolet Cruze Hatch is being run by Chris Stockton, the New Mercedes A Class for Adam Morgan run by Ciceley Motorsport and intake and cooling components for the Audi S3Saloon for Rob Holland and his Rotek Racing Team.

ABS Group also design and build an NGTC Demo Infiniti Q50 for promotional purposes for Support Our Paras Racing as a build up to their new car and entry in 2015.

ABS Group aquire the original Arena Motorsport moulds for the 2009/2010 Ford Focus S2000 BTCC Aero kits.

ABS Group aquire the original moulds for the Mini Sprint bodyshells and components.

2015 ABS Group continue in the BTCC with the Mercedes A Class for Adam Morgan and Aiden Moffat run by Ciceley Motorsport. A new Aero kit for the Infiniti Q50 for Support Our Paras Racing. And a redesign/upgrade for the Chevrolet Cruze Saloon now being run by Power Maxed Racing for Dave Newsham and Josh Cook. We also supply cooling and Ducting packages for other NGTC cars and teams.

ABS Group design and build a Honda EP3 Aero Kit for TH Motorsport to run in Britcar.

ABS Group retool the Arena Motorsport 2011-2014 Ford Focus S2000 BTCC Aero kits.

ABS Group continue developing the classic Mini range with many new parts including the Ultra spoiler and arches.

2016 ABS Group continue in the BTCC with the Mercedes A Class for Adam Morgan and Aiden Moffat run by Ciceley Motorsport. The Chevrolet Cruze Saloon for Hunter Abbott and Kelvin Fletcher run by Power Maxed Racing and we take over production of the Toyota Avensis NGTC Aero kits for Team Hard who are running Jake Hill, Michael Epps, Chris Smiley, Michael Caine and Tony Gilham. We continue to supply cooling and Ducting packages for other NGTC cars and teams.

ABS Group design and build new Aero kit for the New Vauxhall Astra NGTC for 2017.

ABS Group design and build new Aero kit for the New Audi TT for the VW Racing Championship in 2017.

ABS Group design and build the tooling plug for a VW T5 inspired composite trailer for a local business to mimick the T5 van and utilise the VW windows and accesorries to match the owners VW T5 tow vehicle.

ABS Group continue developing the classic Mini range with many new parts including the Pick-up load deck, and new spoilers.

ABS Group design and manufacture a new front bumper for the Mini R56.

ABS Group design and manufacture a range of Wall art projects from a Lincoln Continental, a Full Mini and Mini Front nose sections.

ABS Group design and manufacture a new Styling Skirt and spoiler range for the New Mercedes Vito W447.

ABS Group design and manufacture an intake system and reproduce various aero and intake panels for the Porshe 968.

2017 ABS Group continue in the BTCC with updates for the Mercedes A Class for Adam Morgan and Aiden Moffat run by Ciceley Motorsport. The New Vauxhall Astra for Tom Chilton and Senna Proctor run by Power Maxed Racing. We continue to supply cooling and Ducting packages for other NGTC cars and teams.

2018 ABS Group continue in the BTCC with more updates for the Mercedes A Class for Adam Morgan and Tom Oliphant run by Ciceley Motorsport. Aiden Moffat continues in the Mercedes now being run by Laser Tools Racing. The Vauxhall Astra for Senna Proctor is joined by Josh Cook run by Power Maxed Racing. We have the New NGTC Alfa Romeo Giulietta for Rob Austin run by Handy Motorsport. We continue to supply cooling and Ducting packages for other NGTC cars and teams.

ABS Group continue to supply Swanflight with their Audi TT Aero Kit for the VW Racing Championship.

ABS Group design a new Aero kit for the new Focus Cup Racing Championship for 2019.

ABS Group design new Aero Kit for Chinese Touring Car Championship, the model is as yet not to be released.

2019 ABS Group continue in the BTCC with the Mercedes A Class for Adam Morgan and Daniel Rowbottom run by Ciceley Motorsport. Aiden Moffat continues in the Mercedes with Laser Tools Racing up to the midpoint of the season when they switch to the Infiniti Q50. The Vauxhall Astra run by Power Maxed Racing is now piloted by Jason Plato and Rob Collard. ABS Group take over the manufacture of the MG6 Aero kits and design new cooling intakes for Excelr8 Motorsport with Rob Smith and Sam Osborne behind the wheel. We continue to supply cooling and Ducting packages for other NGTC cars and teams.
